{"id":14849,"date":"2023-08-15T19:40:17","date_gmt":"2023-08-15T19:40:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/cumbernauldprimary\/?p=14849"},"modified":"2023-08-15T19:40:17","modified_gmt":"2023-08-15T19:40:17","slug":"arrangements-for-primary-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/cumbernauldprimary\/2023\/08\/15\/arrangements-for-primary-1\/","title":{"rendered":"Arrangements for Primary 1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Please see the information letter from Mrs Hart below.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Dear Primary 1 Parents and Carers,<\/p>\n<p>We are looking forward to your child starting school and hope the children are feeling really excited.\u00a0 We know that your child\u2019s first day may be an emotional experience for you so we want to ensure that you feel comfortable and confident with the arrangements for the first few days.\u00a0 We want the focus to be on a smooth and happy start to school life for you and your child.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The following information was provided on the final induction day in your child\u2019s white envelope.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Drop off Day 1<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Please arrive at school between <strong>30am and 10.00am.<\/strong> (Please make use of this staggered start to allow for a calm and settled start to the day).<\/li>\n<li>Enter by the <strong>main gate at the turning circle<\/strong> where pupils and staff will be there to direct you to our packed lunch area.<\/li>\n<li>Children and a maximum of 2 adults will be taken along to class in small groups to allow parents to see their child settled and take a quick photograph.<\/li>\n<li>Parents <strong>exit by the Primary 1 door<\/strong> \u2013 staff will be there to guide you.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Drop off Day 2 and 3<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Children should arrive at <strong>00am<\/strong> through the <strong>Primary 1 gate<\/strong> ( next to sports pitch)<\/li>\n<li>Staff will be available to support the children as they make their way into the school building.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Collection Day 1, 2 and 3<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Children can be collected from <strong>45pm<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Parents enter through the <strong>Primary 1 gate<\/strong> and move to their allocated area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>P1a Mrs Wares \u2013 along path<\/p>\n<p>P1b Mrs Canning\/Mrs Steven \u2013 triangular area<\/p>\n<p>P1c Mr Harkness \u2013 pitch and will be called forward<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Teachers will bring the children to the gateway and shout their name.<\/li>\n<li>When your child\u2019s name is called please raise your hand and step forward making yourself obvious to the class teacher. Ensuring your child\u2019s safe collection is always our main priority.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Collection from week beginning 21.08.23 onwards<\/strong> will be from <strong>2.55pm at the Primary 1 gate.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I have provided a video from last year to help you visualise the arrangements.\u00a0 <strong>Please be aware that there is some information that has changed since then but I still felt the video was useful. Changed Information<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 1 drop off is <\/strong><strong>9.30am-10.00am<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Primary 1b is Mrs Canning and Mrs Steven<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Primary 1c is Mr Harkness<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Video Link (copy and paste address below into your search bar)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/outlook.office.com\/owa\/redir.aspx?REF=tDrI7fDEsooaNdZ-7dBRCXY8AExvv5_ddRVXbayyBWNkJ4-TCZ3bCAFodHRwczovL3lvdXR1LmJlL2c4cGtSZTF2bGdn\">https:\/\/youtu.be\/g8pkRe1vlgg<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Lunch <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Children can bring a packed lunch or have a lunch provided free by the school.\u00a0 If your child is ordering a school lunch please help the teacher by having a little chat with your child and discussing the menu <a href=\"http:\/\/www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk\/schools-and-learning\/school-meals\/meal-menus\/primary-school-menu\">www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk\/schools-and-learning\/school-meals\/meal-menus\/primary-school-menu<\/a>. Each morning your child\u2019s class teacher will discuss the menu and place individual orders.\u00a0 It really helps if the children have had a chance to decide what they would like. Please inform the school of any dietary requirements or food allergies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bus\/Aftercare\/Collection<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If your child is going to aftercare or going home on the school bus it is really important that parents inform the school by email or in writing to the class teacher. Let us know the days they will be using the service and any changes to the routine.<\/p>\n<p>If a grandparent, relative or childminder will be collecting your child, it\u2019s a great idea to introduce them to the class teacher at the gate.
