{"id":12128,"date":"2020-08-31T18:12:04","date_gmt":"2020-08-31T18:12:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/cumbernauldprimary\/?p=12128"},"modified":"2020-08-31T18:12:04","modified_gmt":"2020-08-31T18:12:04","slug":"update-on-face-coverings-use-by-pupils-and-staff","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/cumbernauldprimary\/2020\/08\/31\/update-on-face-coverings-use-by-pupils-and-staff\/","title":{"rendered":"Update on face coverings use by pupils and staff"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"headingtext\">\n<h1>Update on face coverings use by pupils and staff<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"introtext\">\n<p>The guidance regarding the use of face coverings in schools is changing<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"bodytext\">\n<div class=\"rimage\">\n<div class=\"imageblock\">\n<div class=\"image\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"North Lanarkshire Council logo\" src=\"https:\/\/www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk\/media\/image\/o\/e\/NLC_Logo_300px.png\" alt=\"North Lanarkshire Council logo\" \/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>From Monday 31 August face coverings should be worn by staff and pupils when:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>adults and young people in secondary schools (including ASN schools) are moving about the school in corridors and confined communal areas (including toilets), where physical distancing is particularly difficult to maintain;<\/li>\n<li>adults, young people and children aged 5 years and over are travelling on dedicated school transport.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We\u00a0appreciate that\u00a0some staff and children and young people will be unable to wear a face covering for good reasons and that position will be respected.<\/p>\n<p>Staff and pupils should ensure they:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>bring their own face coverings to school;<\/li>\n<li>store these safely in a washable, sealable bag or container when not in use;<\/li>\n<li>wash reusable face coverings in hot water at the end of each day;
