{"id":11799,"date":"2020-08-06T11:38:58","date_gmt":"2020-08-06T11:38:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/cumbernauldprimary\/?p=11799"},"modified":"2020-08-06T11:38:58","modified_gmt":"2020-08-06T11:38:58","slug":"primary-1-first-few-days","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/cumbernauldprimary\/2020\/08\/06\/primary-1-first-few-days\/","title":{"rendered":"Primary 1 First Few Days"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"nofocus aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/th.bing.com\/th\/id\/OIP.whL387F6dOZcSnzpnXIOXAAAAA?pid=Api&amp;rs=1\" alt=\"See the source image\" width=\"249\" height=\"176\" aria-label=\"See the source image\" \/>Dear Primary 1 Parents and Carers,<\/p>\n<p>We are looking forward to your child starting school and hope the children are feeling excited.\u00a0 We understand that starting school at this time may be causing you and\/or your child some anxiety or additional worries.\u00a0 Please be assured that we have been working hard to put special measures in place; implementing Scottish Government guidance for the return to school.<\/p>\n<p><strong>One-way system<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Primary 1 pupils have their own separate gate for entry at the start of the day and for collection at the end of the day. <strong>The gate is situated near our school pitch and sports pavilion, at the top of the hill in front of the playpark<\/strong>. Unfortunately parents are not permitted in our school playground.\u00a0 Therefore, we will have a one-way system in place.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Entry to school:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>One adult<\/strong> and child should enter by the Primary 1 gate.<\/li>\n<li>Primary One pupil is then dropped off just before playground gate where they will be met by a staff member and guided to class.<\/li>\n<li>Adults continue on long pathway (along pitch) and exit school via our staff carpark.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We are opting for a soft start for Primary 1 pupils. <strong>For Wednesday 12<sup>th<\/sup>, Thursday 13<sup>th<\/sup> and Friday 14<sup>th<\/sup> August; Primary 1 pupils can start between 9.45am and 10.15am<\/strong>.\u00a0 Please make use of this half hour soft start to avoid too many people arriving at the same time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Collection:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>On the 12<sup>th<\/sup>, 13<sup>th<\/sup> and 14<sup>th<\/sup> August, Primary 1a pupils (Mrs Wares) can be collected at 1.45pm and Primary 1b pupils (Mrs Canning and Mrs Steven) can be collected at 2.00pm.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>One way system remains in place for collection. Adults should enter P1 gate and walk to long pathway beside pitch. Adults should then spread out along path to maintain social distancing.<\/li>\n<li>The class teacher will call the name of each individual pupil.<\/li>\n<li>As your child\u2019s name is called, please step forward to collect your child and exit by the gate to the staff carpark. Please keep hold of your child\u2019s hand when in this area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please note, parking in the staff carpark is not permitted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Week beginning 17<sup>th<\/sup> August:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>From Monday 17<sup>th<\/sup> August school starting times for all pupils will be from <strong>9.00am. <\/strong>Primary 1 pupils can be collected at <strong>2.45pm<\/strong>. We will follow the same procedures as outlined above.
