When\u00a0outdoors\u00a0you need to be very careful and keep two metres\u00a0away\u00a0from\u00a0other people\u00a0who don&#8217;t live in your home.\u00a0Make sure your child understands what two metres distance from other people means, keeping in mind your child&#8217;s age and\u00a0stage\u00a0of development. For example, show them physically what two metres\u00a0looks like by counting how\u00a0many\u00a0steps\u00a0it takes to make two metres.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Staying indoors<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; over long periods of time, this can\u00a0become boring or stressful\u00a0which can impact on\u00a0our physical\u00a0and mental wellbeing. Try to think about ways in which your family can be physically active indoors\u00a0as\u00a0well;\u00a0building\u00a0an obstacle\u00a0course, hide and seek,\u00a0dancing, helping with chores\u00a0around the house, joining\u00a0in with\u00a0<a class=\" inlinelink id9329\" title=\"Link to Joe Wicks workouts\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/thebodycoachtv),\">The Body Coach<\/a>. Relaxation activities such as those on\u00a0\u00a0<a class=\" inlinelink id9330\" title=\"Link to Cosmic Kids Yoga\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/CosmicKidsYoga\">Cosmic Kids Yoga<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a class=\" inlinelink id9331\" title=\"Link to Childmind website\" href=\"https:\/\/www.childline.org.uk\/toolbox\/calm-zone\/\">Calm Zone<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0will help children stay calm, active and enjoy time together with you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Keeping active minds\u00a0<\/strong>&#8211;\u00a0one way this can be achieved is through play,\u00a0fun\u00a0activities\u00a0or\u00a0games\u00a0such as\u00a0puzzles, board games,\u00a0work from school,\u00a0colouring,\u00a0playing cards, magic tricks, arts\u00a0and crafts, eye spy\u00a0etc.\u00a0Spending lots of free time indoors can be\u00a0used\u00a0as\u00a0an opportunity to start a new hobby or build on a new skill for you or your child and help add structure to the day.\u00a0For example,\u00a0involve your child in baking or learning to cook a meal, planning\u00a0a family trip for the future, completing a puzzle or\u00a0read together with your child.\u00a0This\u00a0can help you and your family connect, bond, and have fun together.\u00a0 It is important for children to experience success and receive praise and\u00a0acknowledgement\u00a0for hard work and effort.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Use of Technology<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; consider how\u00a0you\u00a0can use\u00a0screen\u00a0time\/technology in alternative ways. There is a range of resources available online for children of different ages and for parents\/carers as another way to connect and keep active.
