We had a wonderful time in PE this morning. The frame was out and everyone got the chance to see how high they could go as well as doing some
work on the ropes.
We are learning to serve underhand and return overhead shots in badminton. It’s quite tricky but we are enjoying it.
The children had great fun finding number patterns and creating super pattern designs on the iPad. They used their addition skills to complete a pattern worksheet, made patterned loom bands, created even more patterns with their potato printing and finally made a collage of pictures they had taken of patterns found in and around the school. Well done P3/4 you are all experts in pattern!!
As you know maths week has been all about pattern. Today the children started the day identifying a pattern in their spelling words. They all ended in day and started with a capital letter. Can you guess?
Later in the day we used a variety of 2d shapes to make some great patterns. Â The smartboard was a favourite with the children as they explored tessellation.
This term P3/4 will be exploring UNICEF – The Rights of the Child. Â Parents beware!!
The children started by talking about what they thought represented a want and what they thought represented a need.
Next, as part of a group, they completed a sorting task of wants and needs.
Finally, they reported back to the class why they had chosen a particular area. As you can imagine this resulted in some great debates between the children!!
We thought we would take advantage of the good weather and plan a few outdoor activities, one of them being orienteering.
Thank you Stuart and Ross for coming along to teach us the basic skills required in orienteering. We had a fun day!
