We are working so hard to learn our tables just now. Here are some interesting things we did to help our brains take in this important information.
Senses – Tasting
Today we carried out a little investigation. We had to decide if the food we were tasting was sweet, sour, bitter or salty. We got a little mixed up with our sour and bitter taste, but identified our salty and sweet – no surprises there!!!
3d Shape Activities
In P3/4 at the moment we are learning about 3d shape. Check out some of our pictures below.
How to dance with a skeleton!
We had lots of fun
as we finished off our activities about bones and their role in our bodies.
Can you see who was Mr Skeleton’s dance partners today?
Happy Halloween
We had great fun in the afternoon today as we played some Halloween games and had a run through of our Assembly.
We are looking forward to seeing you at 9:15 in the Gym.
Senses – Touch
Today we got to choose five different materials to make our own touch sheet. Some of the materials we used were bumpy, silky, rough, fluffy, jaggy, smooth, furry and plasticky!!
We also have a feel box in our class which you will get to see at our assembly on Wednesday. You can have a little preview of the children using the box in the photographs below.
Senses -Touch
We are learning some interesting facts about touch, one of them being that some parts of the body are more sensitive to touch than others. We found this out  when we did a little experiment with a paper clip.
First Mrs Mutch had to take the paper clip and bend it, so that it had two prongs. We worked with our partners taking turns to check out if we could feel both prongs touching our skin or if it felt like only one. We discovered that our faces were more sensitive than other parts of our body.
This was a fun task and we made sure we were being very responsible when we used the paper clip on our partners bodies.
Greater Than Less Than
The children have been learning to use > < signs accurately. From the pictures you can see the variety of ways that were used to explore this concept.
Class Assembly
We are all very excited about our class assembly next week. The children have written letters to all their friends and family inviting them to join us on
Wednesday 1st November at 9:15 in the school hall.
Look forward to seeing you soon!
Senses – Sight
P3/4 are looking at the 5 senses and today they were trying out a little sight experiment. Is it easier to drop a coin into a cup with your right eye open, your left eye open or both eyes open? Most of the children agreed it was easier with both eyes open, however there were a few that said they found it easy all ways!! I’ll make the cups smaller for them next time lol.
