A few more pictures from our outdoor learning day.
Outdoor Learning Afternoon
What a great day we had on Thursday afternoon at outdoor learning. We learned how to safely start a fire, maintain and look after it and make it safe when we were finished. We even got to toast marshmallows – yummy!!
We had great fun working together in teams designing and making our own den using a variety of materials. To help us secure our den we made our own pegs from branches found around the area.
Finally we got to chill in our dens as we read our stories to our friends. Wouldn’t it be great if everyday was as good as this!!
Health and wellbeing
Learning about how babies are nurtured is part of our health and wellbeing this month. So we  made some food that we all ate when we were being weaned onto solids.
On the menu was
- puréed potato
- pureed carrot
- stewed apples
- yoghurt
- Â custard
- mashed banana
- porridge
Here are some pictures of the preparation and feeding tasks we had to do.
Sound
Our new topic is all about sound. In some of the pictures below we are learning about instruments that make sound  by plucking, shaking, banging and blowing.
We also looked at why animals ears stand up, researched lots of interesting facts about sound and identified a number of sounds we could hear played online.
We have learned that sound is made by vibration and we know how to make sounds louder or softer.
Watch out for some of our experiments coming up soon!!
We love to Dance!
Chryston Library
A lovely surprise for Easter.
Fruit Kebabs
Six lucky children had the opportunity on Friday to make fruit kebabs as part of their Golden Time activity. They showed super safe skills when using their knife to cut up the fruit for their kebabs. There was even enough fruit left over for the rest of the class to have a little taste. Another six children will get the opportunity to try this next week – so yummy.
Art – Still Life Drawings
On Friday we tried our skills at drawing still life using real fruit. It was difficult not to reach out and take some, as it looked so good. Â Unfortunately we were not allowed to touch it as it was going to be used for making fruit kebabs at Golden Time!!
