The Adventures of the p3/4

In Maths we have been learning our learn-its, Our 2 & 5 times tables. We have been practising them all the time, playing different games and things. We are finding this all new, different & fun.

We have also been doing some mental maths, jumping to numbers on a number line. We played a board game with partners & used the big dice to actually jump up a number line. It was really good fun & a few of us found it easy.

In Literacy we have been working on our phonemes, such as , ‘y’ ‘ and ’igh’. We have been playing games to try to remember which words have which phoneme sound in it.

In taught writing we finished our Winnie the Witch stories. We loved writing about Winnie the Witch and our stories are on display outside our classroom if you want to come and see them.

For our reading Primary 3s got their first chapter book, called, ‘The Boy Racer’ We are really enjoying the book so far & have read 4 chapters. For our writing task we have to kid on we were actually Gary & write about his feelings.

The P4s have been reading about Max & they are really enjoying their books. Primary 4s wrote instructions about how to make Max fly like Pecky which was good fun and drew a characterisation of the main characters.

This week for RME we used ICT. We learned how to make a movie. In partners we made puppets & backgrounds. Then we used the Ipads to film our puppets. After we filmed it, we put the video into Imovie. After that we added music and photographs. It was really good fun & we would love to do it again at some point.
