Our week – 16/11/15 – 20/11/15

Literacy

Today we were very excited and lucky to see a pantomime.  The theme was ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’.  We all loved it and it was amazing.  Then after it we wrote about it, for our taught writing, which was fun.

We have been practising our handwriting and we are making very good progress with this.

P3s are enjoying Crazy cousins and Aliens stole my dog.  This week we have been working on our sequencing and got to draw comic strips as well as writing about the story and Laya said is was fun.

P4s are also enjoying literacy and have just finished the Ant and the Dove.  They got to listen to the story and they enjoyed reading along with it.  They are now on Mr Big has a Party, which they are very excited about as well.

Numeracy

We have been continuously learning our 2,5 and 10 timestables.  we have all been working so hard that we have all bet our best scores & are very proud of ourselves.

We have moved onto 3D shapes and have been having fun learning about the different shapes.

IDL

Our new topic is ‘Sound’.  We learned that sound is made from vibrations.  In groups we had a hunt around the class looking for items that made sound.  We are looking forward to doing more about it & maybe using our 3D shapes in the topic.  Watch this space.

Expressive Arts

We made Christmas Decorations and cards.  We also did a collage of a landscape with houses.  We all loved doing this & can’t wait for next week.

Thanks for reading & we can’t wait to read your comments.
