Paramedic Visit

I would like to say a massive thank you to Martin Fraser (Stuarts Dad) and Stephanie from the Ambulance Service for taking the time on their day off to come to Coltness High School and speak to our S3/4/5 Asdan pupils about their roles. They came armed with equipment including a resuscitation Anne, allowing the pupils to get some hands on experience. They were a delight and the pupils thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Eco-Friendly

Eco-Friendlyecoflag

The Support for Learning Department in conjunction with Science have been driving an Eco-Friendly Project. The aim of the group is to raise awareness across the school and in time gain an ECO-FLAG.

The project will be led by a committee of pupils who have all volunteered their time and support.

All information including committee names and minutes of recent meetings can be found on the board at the entrance to the school.

Peer Tutoring

img_0198Support for Learning would like to say a massive thank you to the 33 senior pupils who have volunteered to Peer Tutor. This involves them supporting younger pupils across many subject areas, who are finding the work challenging. They assist the pupils in many ways including; helping them to organise their resources, keep up with the classwork, reading text, recording answers and much more. They are very much appreciated by not only the Support for Learning department and the classroom teacher but more importantly the younger pupils concerned.

Peer Tutoring runs annually and each pupil is awarded the ‘Diana Award of Excellence’ for their volunteering and commitment to the programme.

Greenhead Moss

s3asdanOn Tuesday 27th September our S3 Asdan Group had planned a visit to Greenhead Moss unfortunately the weather said different. However not all was lost as Aileen, NLC park ranger very kindly came to the school to tell us about the history of Greenhead Moss. Thanks Aileen, our pupils thoroughly enjoyed that talk.

Welcome to your New Year!

Welcome back to all our pupils who were sitting exams in May!  Every year group has now moved up.

We hope you enjoy settling into your new subjects and routine. There are lots of fun activities going on during June too!  smiley

If you need extra information about any of your classes, please ask your teacher, Pupil Support or SfL staff.
