S2 – Internet Safety

Welcome back to school, I hope you had a good and healthy holiday. If you have not yet submitted last week’s task to your teacher, then please do that just now.

Quite a few of you have told me about how you are keeping in contact with friends and family using social media, so this is a good time to go over some of the Internet Safety we covered in class.

I would like you to think about ways you are keeping in contact with people, what sites or applications are you using. Then I want to think if and how you are keeping your own and others personal information safe.

Complete the Safer Internet Day Quiz and attach a completed copy of it to your email. Look at Safer Internet Day Quiz – Answers , do they match up with what you thought? If not? why not?

Using the departmental area on “staying safe online” (  https://blogs.glowscotland.org.uk/nl/ColtnessHS-Mrs_Bennie/s2-business-ict/ ) to help you and your answers from the quiz. Create a presentation about keeping personal information safe online and any legal issues you might face. Include a list of dos and don’ts. Be as creative as you like and use as many slides as you need, add animations and images.

Email the completed presentation to your teacher.
