Below is a list of recommended websites for all year groups to use at home and in school.
Edmodo – pupils will be able to access this platform set up by their classroom teacher. The pupils may ask their teacher about their class code to join in the group and access any extra support materials shared by the teacher.
Word Reference – One of the best online foreign language dictionaries, this website is strongly recommended for pupils of all year groups.
www.bbc.co.uk/education – Get into the Secondary section of the BBC and then Spanish. Work your way around the website at your own leisure, as there are very interesting and useful resources for working out your Spanish.
Mi vida loca– This website, also from the BBC, is a fun way for pupils in Broad General Education, particularly those in S1 and S2, to improve their Spanish.
Duolingo – this webpage for learning languages that can also be downloaded as an app on mobile phones, is a fun and captivating way of getting on with your vocabulary and grammar.
El país – Spanish newspaper online, a bit a challenge for the pupils’ foreign language skills, but very good source of Spanish culture and news.
RTVE – the Spanish public TV and Radio – news and television programmes online.
Fancy trying to see any TV drama? Look in the A la carta section to find some of them. Why don´t you try Cuéntame cómo pasó, the story of Carlitos and his family in the late 60s Spain? A very interesting picture of recent Spain history that has been on air for 15 years!
SQA webpage, with Past Exams for different subjects. Check out the Spanish ones, it can prove really useful for studying and preparing the National Qualifications. You only need to specify the level and the subject you need to see!
