Observation is vital for the development of pupils ability to record visually and to improve practical skills\u00a0using a variety of media and materials. There are three projects that S1 will complete throughout the year. Each of these projects focus on developing a wide range of practical \u00a0skills and activities. Pupils will also be introduced to basic critical thinking and analysis through studying the work of successful artists and designers.<\/p>\n<p>The three projects that will be followed in S1 Art &amp; Design are as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Still Life &#8211; click <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/cnhsartanddesign\/s1-still-life-image-gallery\/\">here<\/a> for Image Gallery<\/li>\n<li>Graphic Design &#8211; click <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/cnhsartanddesign\/s1-art-deco-image-gallery\/\">here<\/a> for Image Gallery<\/li>\n<li>Portraiture &#8211; click <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/cnhsartanddesign\/s1-portraiture-image-gallery\/\">here<\/a> for Image Gallery<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each of the above projects will enable pupils to refine their artisic skills and abilities by focussing on how to use\u00a0the visual elements to best effect in the production of their work.<\/p>\n<p>Pupils will also be issued with a homework sketchbook detailing\u00a0itemised drawing and research tasks to support the learning throughout the year.
