It is about building relationships and self-esteem. Total Communication lies at the heart of our ethos in creating a culture where language and communication is accessible to all.\u00a0 It includes all the ways we communicate and all the strategies and resources that we use consistently to promote, support and encourage positive communication.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">All children and young people have the right to have their voice heard, this includes all our learners in Clydeview School who may experience challenges with their speech, language and\/or communication,\u00a0 who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and those whose social, emotional and behavioural needs are a barrier to their communication.<\/p>\n<p>Some communication supports in place in Clydeview School &#8211;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/clydeview\/files\/2022\/04\/coat.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-802 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/clydeview\/files\/2022\/04\/coat-150x134.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"79\" height=\"71\" \/><\/a>Objects of Reference &#8211; we use these to support communication, i.e jackets to communicate time to go out to play, plate to represent lunch time.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/clydeview\/files\/2022\/04\/PECS-book.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-797\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/clydeview\/files\/2022\/04\/PECS-book-150x150.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"84\" height=\"84\" \/><\/a>PECS &#8211;
