{"id":67,"date":"2015-06-19T09:33:03","date_gmt":"2015-06-19T09:33:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/anntest3\/?page_id=67"},"modified":"2024-02-20T12:17:42","modified_gmt":"2024-02-20T12:17:42","slug":"enrolment","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/clelandprimary\/enrolment\/","title":{"rendered":"Enrolment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><u>Registration<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This takes place in January of each year for those children who reach his\/her fifth birthday between 1<sup>st<\/sup> March 2024 and 28 February 2025 and are due to start school the following August. It normally takes place at the local school, within their catchment area.\u00a0 \u00a0Official dates for registration will be announced in the press and parents already associated with the school will be notified of dates through school newsletters.\u00a0 This year the forms have to be returned with birth certificate and council tax bill attached by January 24th 2024. In keeping with the policy of Cleland Primary School, parents are invited to contact the school at any time should they have a query with regard to the registration process.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><strong><u>Placing Requests<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>You have the right to make a placing request for your child to be educated in a school other than the local school.\u00a0 In December each year, the Authority will advertise its arrangements for placing requests.\u00a0 There are sound educational reasons for trying to ensure that the transfer or admission of children to a school takes place at the start of a school session.\u00a0 Other than those who are moving home or to a new area, parents are advised to time any placing requests so that they take effect from the beginning of the new school session.\u00a0 Every effort will be made to try to meet the parental wishes, but you should note that it is not always possible to grant every placing request to a particular school.<\/p>\n<p>Placing requests to a particular Primary School does not necessarily ensure that your child will have a direct entry into the associated secondary.\u00a0 Advice on this must be sought from the Primary School Head Teacher.\u00a0 All placing request details and procedures are available from the school or the Council\u2019s website.<\/p>\n<p>Parents and Young People have a right under the Additional Support for Learning Act 2009 to make a placing request for their child or young person to attend a nursery (including partnership nursery), special school, special class managed by the home authority. In the event of a successful placing request the authority are not required to provide transport. The Act also enables parents and young people to make a placing request to attend a school\/establishment belonging to another authority.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Enrolment<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk\/schools-and-learning\/school-admissions\/registration-of-infant-beginners\">Enrolment<\/a> forms are available for parents\/carers to complete at the school during enrolment week<\/p>\n<p>You must also bring\u00a0 your child\u2019s birth certificate and proof of address in the form of the current tax bill\/utility bill.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Due to difficulties in the past, each child&#8217;s birth certificate and proof of address in the form of the current council tax bill\/utility bill <u>must<\/u> be produced. There are no alternatves.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk\/schools-and-learning\/school-admissions\/placing-requests\">Placing Request<\/a><u>\u00a0 <\/u> forms are available on-line and can be emailed to ef.placingrequests@northlan.gov.uk<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk\/schools-and-learning\/school-transport\/free-school-transport\">Transport forms<\/a> are also available online and paper copies can be requested from ef.transport@northlan.gov.uk<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Choosing a school booklet can be downloaded from the Scottish Government website <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scotland.gov.uk\/Publications\/2010\/11\/10093528\/0\">www.scotland.gov.uk\/Publications\/2010\/11\/10093528\/0<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Parents\/carers who wish to make an early entry request should contact their catchment area school download an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk\/schools-and-learning\/school-admissions\/early-entry\">Early Entry request form<\/a> and send to ef.placingrequests@northlan.gov.uk<\/p>\n<p>There will be an induction programme organised in May\/June for our new P1 pupils and their parents.\u00a0 Within the programme the children will be given an opportunity to meet their new teacher and become familiar with the class environment.\u00a0 Our Primary 1 curriculum will be explained to parents and possible strategies for parents to carry out at home discussed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Registration This takes place in January of each year for those children who reach his\/her fifth birthday between 1st March 2024 and 28 February 2025 and are due to start school the following August.
