Today Base 4 practised fractions outside in the eco garden. We made halves and quarters using sticks, stones, our own bodies and other items in the playground.

Base 2 celebrated the end of their topic about France with a French breakfast for family and friends. Camembear made a guest appearance and parents had the chance to see the children’s work. We all enjoyed baguettes, croissants, brioche, cheese and jam. Thank you for your support with homework challenges and kind comments.

The choir were rehearsing our Red Nose Day song in preparation for our assembly performance tomorrow! We’ll be reminding everyone to ‘Put a Nose On It’ this Friday 24th March 🙂

Base 7 shared lots of interesting facts about China at our assembly last week! Well done everyone!

We had fun learning about the famous French artist, Georges Seurat (1859 -1891). He invented Pointillism which is using dots of colour to create pictures. We tried to copy this style by using cotton buds and paint palettes and also felt pens. Some groups were in the French cafe ordering baguettes and some were working on jigsaws from around the world. What a busy afternoon in Base 2!

Base 7 loved getting their glitter tattoos today for Spring Fun Fortnight!

Camembear is helping Base 2 to learn French. He will be visiting everyone’s house to see how Scottish people live and to practise French. He has his own suitcase and he has a diary to fill out each day. So far he has been swimming, dancing, playing football and been to a party! He is loving his stay in Scotland.

We are learning to make ‘Friendly 10s’ during Number Talks. We can break up smaller numbers, fill one of the boxes and add on the rest!
