And the Oscar goes to……………..Base 12!
P6 have made a fantastic start to their new ‘Movies’ topic by celebrating the Oscars. They created Oscar portraits by using chalk to create the Oscar silhouette. One of our very own pupils suggested adding glitter to represent the glitz and glamour of the evening. Well done boys and girls you have created Oscar worthy portraits.
Base 9 have been learning about cops and robbers. On Tuesday they enjoyed a visit from the community police, PC Lauren and Stephanie. They got to try out the handcuffs, try on the police hats, got their finger prints taken and even got to sit in the police car! Some of them were even lucky enough to put on the blue lights and siren.
Base 12 recently visited Summerlee Heritage Centre to take part in a Victorian workshop. The workshop allowed the boys and girls to become historians for the day and share all that they had learned from their recent Victorian topic in class. The boys and girls were able to handle some real Victorian items, write using chalk and ink, play with some Victorian toys and even dressed the part as a Victorian.
They all had a fantastic time, well done Primary 6.
Well done to our senior pupils from P5, P6 & P7 for taking part in the North Lanarkshire Active Schools Cross Country Competition. We have some real talent here at Clarkston Primary…..some future Olympic athletes! Well done boys and girls.
The boys and girls in Base 12 have recently finished a block of Bible Alive lessons with Mrs Sim. Through drama and even sign language the children were able to learn some of the stories from the Bible. They were even able to interview the one and only Moses. Primary 6 would like to thank Mrs Sim for her time and for creating fun, exciting and interactive learning experiences.
Base 4 have been learning all about Roald Dahl and his fantastic stories. On the 13th of September they celebrated his 100th Anniversary by writing factfiles about his life and created a new chocolate bar for Willy Wonka’s factory. They finished off the day by watching the live celebrations of his birthday and eating the delicious snacks they made.
Base 2 enjoyed their outdoor learning with Andy the Ranger. We listened to a story about a hedgehog in the tepee and learned about how hedgehogs survive in the winter. We had great fun looking for food, water and shelter cards in the garden.
