Staff and pupils enjoyed a Fairtrade Festival Week to promote the importance of Fairtrade.  The council organised an assembly to make pupils and staff aware of the information behind Fairtrade and Base 5 pupils backed up this important information by performing a super assembly to the whole school on the purpose of Fairtrade.  Pupils were invited to wear Fairtrade colours to school and participated in activities such as Beat The Goalie, Fairtrade Tuck-shop and face painting as well as benefitting from many learning experiences in class.  A super time was had by all.  Thank you to the Eco/Fairtrade Council for organising the whole school event.

Bases 7 and 9 Generation Science Workshop

Base 7 and 9 pupils enjoyed a Generation Science Weather Workshop today.  They joined Walter and Wilbur, wacky weatherpeople, on their intrepid journey through the water cycle. They braved snowstorms, downpours and thick fog to discover how water changes from one state to another.  Pupils participated in some seriously fun water chemistry!  Thank you to the PTA for funding the workshop.

Base 7 pupils are enjoying the real life experience of the lifecycle of an egg!  The ‘Living Eggs’ project arrived in school on Monday and our first chicks hatched today… Very ‘eggciting’!!!!!!  Eden, named after a birthday girl in B7 today, hatched first followed by a second chick a few hours later. We hope you enjoy the photos and film clip showing our new arrivals!

Nessie Models by Base 8 Pupils

Base 8 pupils enjoyed making Nessie models as part of the IDL homework challenge.  Their hard work was showcased today when pupils from other bases visited to view the Nessie models and listen to descriptions of what materials children used to make the models.  Pupils also enjoyed a recital of a Nessie poem.  Have a look to see the fantastic creations.
