Active Literacy

The boys and girls in Base 8 have been very busy during their Active Literacy lessons.  After completing their chapter book they were able to work with their partners and discuss what their favourite part of the story was.  They were able to design new front covers for their books including all the important information that they needed as well as a drawing of their favourite part of the story.  Well done base 8……fantastic work!!!

First Day At Kilbowie

Primary 7 pupils have enjoyed their first day at Kilbowie.  On arrival they enjoyed a lunch, a fire drill and then a getting to know you task with their instructors.  Dinner proved tasty and then pupils enjoyed an evening activity which involved exploring the grounds  of Kilbowie.  It is now time for lights out after supper and hopefully a full night’s sleep before a full day of activities tomorrow.

Dutch Guests

Clarkston enjoyed a visit from some Dutch guests yesterday.  Their day started with being part of the school assembly where they were entertained with the Base 1 Pudsey assembly, the guests were then given a presentation on leadership and management by the management team and their day ended with a super tour around the school by the captains and vice captains.  Fun was had by all.

Base 1 Pudsey Assembly

Base 1 pupils performed a super Pudsey assembly which outlined the benefits of supporting the charity.  The whole school and our Dutch guests enjoyed the performance which included a specialised song for everyone to join in.  A whopping £430 was raised by the school and nursery for Children in Need last Friday.  Base 1 pupils certainly made everyone aware of the excellent support this charity offers to others.
