At Clarkston Primary School outdoor learning is becoming an integral part of the curriculum. It is a teaching approach which can enhance and integrate a wide range of learning opportunities.
By integrating outdoor learning into our planning we can offer first hand ‘real life’ experiences which research suggests is the most effective way to develop knowledge and understanding.
We passionately believe that outdoor learning engages and stimulates children on a level which may be difficult to achieve in the classroom alone. Accessing the outdoor environment is a positive approach to learning which enthuses, motivates and engages children.
Primary 1 to 3 classes explored the great outdoors with a little help from The Forestry Commission Rangers.
What a great day!
