Vishing frauds against the older people are on the rise
Vishing involves phone calls from people pretending to be from a reputable company in order to encourage people to reveal personal information such as banking or credit card details.
Recent examples include:
- A woman who was conned into transferring £36,000 (four lots of £9,000)
- A man who lost his entire life savings by fraudsters pretending to be from the Royal Bank of Scotland.
