On behalf of everyone at the team in Chryston we would like to wish all our pupils, parents and extended community a fantastic summer and now look forward to seeing you all in the new term!
Yesterday our challengers and 2 school leaders met their new Expedition Leader, James Kirkham. With only 2 days to go, our challengers underwent a full day of expedition training and team building tasks. The team are now fully packed and are raring to go!
All challengers are to meet at the check in desks at departures at Glasgow airport at 3am on Sunday 25th June, where they will then start their expedition to Southern Tanzania.

Old blazers wanted.
If you have any old blazers at home that are no longer required then the school would really appreciate if they could be donated back to us. We like to have a stockpile of blazers that can be used for temporary measures and our levels are now critically low.
Don’t worry if they are damaged in any way as we are happy to attempt to repair them if possible.

It has been another very successful year for our athletes participating in the annual secondary school Athletics Championships at Wishaw Sports Centre. Our very talented performers won many medals over the two days of the championships, allowing Chryston High to finish 4th on the medal table and only 1 point away from 2nd place. This is an incredible achievement for our school and we are extremely proud of all our pupils who represented Chryston High. Well done everyone!
This Thursday 25th of May will see all of our S1 pupils head to Coatbridge Outdoor Sports Centre to participate in our annual Athletics Competition. This is a team event which highlights the World Athletics Championships taking place in London this year by assigning each pupil to a team in one of the top 8 performing athletics nations.
Our S1’s will take part in at least one track or field event for their country and every team member races in the the shuttle relay. Medals will be awarded to every participant of the top 3 highest scoring nations.
There are 8 top performing athletes in S2 and S3 who have selected and specially invited to compete for the opportunity to be Chryston High Athletics Champion via a Pentathlon event running alongside our S1 sports day.

Chryston High pupils won a number of awards at the 1st Annual NLC Language Awards held today at the Excelsior Stadium in Airdrie.
Pupils joined their peers from other NLC primary and secondary schools to collect their awards from a host of linguists.

Here is brochure displaying some of the great work that the S1 pupils have been doing in the German over the course of the year. 
Pupils have been exploring Scottish and German culture and sharing their findings with their peers in Erfurt, Germany.
The Modern Languages department is offering pupils sitting German SQA exams masterclass on Thursday 25th May.
National 5 9am-10:30am
Higher/AH 11am-12:30pm
Pupils should report to Mr Kirk’s room in ML2 where there will be a range of activities to help revise for the final exam on 2nd June. We will do work on vocabulary, listening, reading and writing.

Our S1 Parents’ Consultation meetings take place on Wednesday 10th of May from 4.15pm till 6.30pm. This is an opportunity for our S1 parents to meet with their children’s class teachers to discuss how their children have progressed this session.
Children will be issued with an appointment sheet today and will be able to make appointments to see their teachers from Friday. Each appointment lasts 5 minutes. Pupils are very welcome to attend appointments with their parents.
Feedback from the parental questionnaire will be available. There will be tea and coffee in the social area.
