Hello! We are looking to hold a massive raffle and silent auction at the end of the year to help us raise funds for our expedition to Vietnam in 2019.
We’re looking for as many brilliant raffle prizes to be donated as possible, and all raffle prizes will be greatly appreciated.
If anyone owns, works or knows anyone who works for a business, restaurant, football team, or sports facility (local or nationally) who would be willing to donate a prize for our events, can you please contact Miss Renicks at the school.
We’ve emailed quite a few businesses and football clubs for donations but haven’t had any response yet.
Thank you in advance and for considering our request.
The World Challenge Vietnam Team
Yesterday our challengers and 2 school leaders met their new Expedition Leader, James Kirkham. With only 2 days to go, our challengers underwent a full day of expedition training and team building tasks. The team are now fully packed and are raring to go!
All challengers are to meet at the check in desks at departures at Glasgow airport at 3am on Sunday 25th June, where they will then start their expedition to Southern Tanzania.
If you want to keep track of the team’s adventure, please check out their blog on the following link:
Please feel free to leave the team comments!
Our first ever school organised Ben Nevis Challenge took place on Saturday 18th June, 2016 where 37 pupils and 8 members of staff were accompanied by 4 mountain leaders in a sponsored climb for Macmillan and World Challenge.
It was a very warm and sunny day and the views from the summit were spectacular! Everyone did really well on the day, and everyone achieved something very special. Three out of the four groups managed to reach the summit, and everyone had an enjoyable day.
So far we have raised just over £1800 for Macmillan and £580 for our World Challenge expedition to Southern Tanzania. This is an amazing amount of money and everyone should be so proud of themselves.
A video of the day can be found on YouTube: Ben Nevis Challenge 2016
Pupils have now been issued with all of the information that they need to safely climb Ben Nevis.
- The bus will be leaving the school at 5.30am sharp. Pupils are asked to be in the school car park no later than 5.15am.
- We should return to the school car park between 10.00pm and 11.00pm. Pupils will be asked to contact you when we are close to home to let you know a more accurate time. Could you please collect or arrange for someone to collect your son/daughter when we arrive back at the school, as they will not be allowed to make their own way home at such a late hour.
Additional copies of the safety booklet, sponsor form and the final details letter can be found on the Ben Nevis page as part of the Wider Achievement section of the school website.
Thank you to all S3, S4 and S5 parents and pupils for quickly returning consent forms and bus money for the Ben Nevis trip.
Can all S4 and S5 pupils who haven’t already collected their sponsor forms for this event please collect one from Miss Renicks as soon as possible. Once all pupils have returned from study leave, there will be a meeting to give out important information regarding health and safety, equipment and the finer details of the trip.
