School Uniform

Wearing a school uniform keeps everyone the same and develop a sense of belonging to our school community.  At Chapelgreen Primary our uniform is:

• navy trousers/skirt
• blue shirt or blouse
• school tie
• pale blue polo shirt
• royal blue sweatshirt or cardigan

 (All items may be ordered from School Trends during the Parent/Teacher Interviews in the summer term or online from Tesco).

Your child will also need to change out of their outdoor shoes and wear plimsoles or indoor shoes.

Physical Education

During P.E. children should wear a blue or white t-shirt, navy or black shorts and a pair of suitable  gym shoes, such as trainers.    

For Health and Safety reasons, children must not wear any jewellery to school.  If your child’s ears are pierced they can wear a small stud but these will need to be removed before P.E. or if the piercing is relatively new, be taped up.

 A bag will be issued for gym kit which should be brought to school on Monday left in school all week and taken home on Friday for washing.

Clothing which is unacceptable in school under any circumstances – includes items which;

• could potentially encourage factions (e.g. football colours)
• could cause offence (e.g. anti religious symbolism or political slogans)
• could cause health and safety difficulties such as loose fitting clothing or dangling earrings and other potentially dangerous jewellery.
• are of flammable materials which may be a danger in certain classes (e.g. shell suits)
• could cause damage to flooring.
• carry advertising in particular for alcohol or tobacco, and
• could be used to inflict damage on other pupils or to be used by others to do so.

Nursery Uniform

When your child attends nursery they will be involved in a wide variety of activities both indoors and outdoors.  It is important that children feel comfortable in their clothes and do not have to worry about ‘getting good clothes’ wet or dirty.  We have a lovely nursery uniform which is both cute and comfortable consisting of:

• navy sweatshirt
• polo shirt (different colours available)

Your child will also need indoors shoes to wear inside the nursery.
