  • Healthy School Week – Tooth Brushing Experiment

We took part in a tooth brushing experiment!  We used disclosure tablets to show the plaque on our teeth.  Then we brushed our teeth focusing on the parts that had plaque on them.   We were given a ‘GREEN for GREAT’ award from Cathy our school dental nurse!

  • Room 2 Numicon Number

We have been using Numicon materials to help us with our calculations.  The Numicon helps us to see what the numbers look like.  Primary 1 have been creating addition and subtraction calculations and Primary 2 and 3 have been using the Numicon materials to create multiplication calculations.   We found our number work fun today!

  • NURSERY LIAISON

Today the children from the nursery that will be starting school in August came over for a visit to Room 2.  Everyone had fun working with their peers using the iPads.  Roll on August!!!!!!

  • Tri Golf – Room 2

We have been outside finishing off our Tri Golf.  We have learned to do lots of new things!  We all know how to hold the club and stand correctly.  We are confident when chipping and putting the ball and some of us even managed to get it in the hole!

  • Easter Boat Race 2017

Thank you to the Parent Council for organising the Easter boat race. The children had fun designing and making their boats before watching them race down the burn.  Well done to all of the winners!

  • OUR FAVOURITE TOYS

Room 2 have started a new topic entitled ‘Toys’.  We have been looking at toys from the past and from the present.  We all brought in our favourite toys from home and took part in a ‘show and tell’ activity.  More pictures to follow!

  • Room 2’s Church Visit

We would like to say thank you to Mrs Johnston for showing us around Anderson Church today.  We had lots of fun looking round for the things we have been learning about in class.  We spotted the font, the pulpit, the altar, the pews and some stained glass windows.  Can you see any of these in our photographs?

  • Another Active Afternoon for Room 2

Room 2 enjoyed an afternoon of outdoor gym.  The children ran their daily mile in the sun then practised their gymnastics skills of balancing, sliding, rolling and jumping  on the outdoor obstacle course.

  • Nature Walk

Miss Coyle took us on a nature walk last week.  We saw lots of trees and some moss and we heard the birds tweeting.  We wrote letters to Mrs Crockett to tell her what we saw and heard on our walk.  Well done to Tyler, Ainsley, Ellie and Eva who were our star writers.

  • Outdoor Clocks

We had fun drawing clocks in the playground today.

We had to put the numbers and the hands in the correct place on our analogue clocks then write the time in digital.

    It was a little tricky!
