The Institute for Research in Schools is a charitable trust supporting school students and teachers to develop authentic research in schools.
This year we have had three senior pupils completing a MELT Project (Monitoring the Earth, Learning for Tomorrow) on Earth Observation, using satellites to monitor the process of glacial formation and sharing their findings with other scientists. Our students are collaborating with Dr Anna Hogg at the Centre for Polar Observation and Modelling (CPOM) at the University of Leeds.
IRIS have also developed a “research from home” project aimed at physics students aged between 14 and 16, and more information about that project and how to participate can be found HERE.
