Carbrain Cares

We pride ourselves on being a welcoming, friendly and supportive school community; working together to create an inclusive, happy and caring environment where children feel valued and motivated to be the best they can.

We aim to provide high quality learning and teaching experiences for all our learners; developing a curriculum that supports and promotes life skills, creativity, and aspiration through child centred and effective pupil planning that build places ‘Community’ and ‘Relationships’ at the heart of everything we do.

OUR AIMS

  • Provide all learners with opportunities and experiences that are meaningful and enable them to achieve their potential.
  • Provide equal opportunities and experiences for all learners.
  • Raise aspirations by building the confidence and self-esteem of our learners and school community.
  • Promote a culture where everyone is valued equally and achievements both within and outside of school are recognised and celebrated.
  • Continue to develop an inclusive ethos which supports our learners, school, and wider school community.
  • Work in partnership with our families, the community and other agencies and services to improve outcomes for our children.

To achieve this:

  • We support our children to develop the four capacities of Curriculum for Excellence to enable our children to become successful learners, confident individuals, effective contributors, responsible citizens.
  • We support our children in line with the principles of GIRFEC and SHANARRI; providing a safe and nurturing environment that allows everyone to succeed and feel proud in celebration of their achievements.
  • We work as a team, with all staff, pupils, parents/carers and members of the wider community to promote mutual respect, responsibility and high expectations of every child.
  • We continue to promote a positive ethos, valuing diversity and social inclusion. We provide opportunities for pupils, and actively encourage parents/carers and members of the wider community to play an active and responsible role in the school and beyond.
  • We continue to promote Health and Wellbeing by providing staff and young people with the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills to achieve a safe, healthy, active and achieving lifestyle, ensuring they are nurtured, listened to and included.
  • We will, through rigorous self-evaluation and consultation with all stakeholders, support and encourage lifelong learning through the GIRFEC approach.
  • School songs and motto developed by the children to promote inclusion and a sense of value and belonging.
  • We will continue to develop opportunities for pupil voice enabling children to have a say in the issues that matter to them in our school community.
  • Children are given the opportunity to lead their own learning.
