\"\"At Calderhead High School<\/em>, we are committed to preparing our young people for life beyond the classroom through the Developing the Young Workforce (DYW)<\/strong> programme. DYW is Scotland\u2019s national strategy to help young people gain the skills, experiences, and confidence they need to succeed in the world of work.<\/p>\n

We work in partnership with local employers, colleges, training providers, and community organisations to create meaningful learning opportunities that connect education with employment. From work placements and industry visits to career insight days and employer-led projects, our pupils gain real-world experience that supports their learning and future aspirations.<\/p>\n

Through DYW, we aim to ensure every young person leaves Calderhead equipped with the skills, qualifications, and ambition to thrive post school no matter what pathway they choose.<\/p>\n

As the DYW Champion<\/strong>, I\u2019m passionate about helping our young people see the link between what they learn in school and the world of work. I work closely with pupils, parents and carers, staff, colleges, universities and local employers to create exciting opportunities that build skills, confidence, and career awareness. My goal is to help every young person feel inspired, prepared, and ready to take their next steps beyond school.<\/p>\n
