This year, one of our key priorities as a school is to improve attendance, as we know how vital regular attendance is to a young person\u2019s success. Strong attendance helps pupils to make the most of their learning, build positive relationships, and develop the skills they need for the future. Research clearly shows that even short periods of absence can have a significant impact on progress, confidence, and overall s<\/span>chool experience.<\/p>\n

North Lanarkshire\u2019s expectation is tha<\/span>t all pupils achieve attendance of 95% or above across the academic year. While we understand that illness and unavoida<\/span>ble circumstances may occasionally prevent attendance, we ask for your support in ensuring your child is in school whenever possible.<\/p>\n

Last year, our Principal Teachers of Pupil Support spent a considerable amount of time contacting families to confirm reasons for absence, time that could have been better spent providing personalised support in school. To help re<\/span>duce this, we kindly ask that you notify the school’s office on 01501 826701<\/strong> as early as possible on the first day of absence. This helps us to monitor attendance effectively and provide any necessary support.<\/p>\n

Additionally, as part of our commitment to supporting pupils in meeting the 95% attendance target, our Family Engagement Liaison Officer will be in touch with families to identify any barriers and work together on solutions to improve attendance.<\/span><\/p>\n
