About Us

Brannock High is a non-denominational, co-educational comprehensive school which servesSchool2v2
the town of Carfin and surrounding areas. At present the school roll is around six hundred. The
school catchment area takes in Carfin, Holytown, Newstevenson, in which four associated primary schools are Holytown Primary, Keir Hardie Memorial, Newstevenson Primary and Newarthill Primary.

Brannock High’s situation makes it ideal for utilising the Water Sports Centre at Strathclyde Country Park, where pupils can follow pursuits such as sailing and canoeing and land activities such as orienteering. Hill walking and outdoor pursuits are within reach of the school, with easy access to the Campsies, Clyde Valley and Lowther Hills. Swimming can he catered for with easy access to Bellshill and Motherwell Aquatec. Considerable use is made of Wishaw Sports Centre and Kilbowie Outdoor Centre.

The school has been constructed with the needs of pupils with Additional Support for Learning in mind. Ramps have been provided as strategic places either in place or in addition to stairs, and a lift is provided for transport between floors. Special toilets and showers have been constructed in the P.E Block and in the Medical Suite.
