Since its first development, the project has flourished momentously with many organisations, individuals and schools donating and fundraising to help change the educational lives of young children in Malawi, Africa.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Our Focus<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The \u2018Aiming Higher in Malawi\u2019\u00a0charity project currently has the ambition to help to\u00a0transform the <u>health<\/u> and <u>education<\/u> of <strong>girls<\/strong> and <strong>disabled children<\/strong> in the poverty-stricken third world country.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Previous Developments<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Each year, the charity\u00a0organises school visits\u00a0for teachers, pupils, lecturers and sports coaches involved in many programmes, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>setting up libraries;<\/li>\n<li>creating a science laboratory;<\/li>\n<li>promoting HIV\/AIDS prevention;<\/li>\n<li>photography classes;<\/li>\n<li>business enterprise lessons;<\/li>\n<li>a drama and music group;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>organising fun activities including choral lessons and rugby clubs.<\/p>\n<p><em>The project aims to help empower the young people, in particular girls and disadvantaged disabled children in the region, to stop negative social attitudes, end harmful traditional practices and support inclusive educational opportunities.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u2018Aiming Higher in Malawi\u2019 is a North Lanarkshire endorsed project which was founded in 2004.
