Bothwellpark High School is a non-denominational
\nsecondary school co-located with Our Lady\u2019s High School
\nin Motherwell.<\/p>\n

Pupils in the Broad General Education (BGE) phase are
\nin mixed ability, mixed age groups of children from S1-3. In
\nBGE classes, there is discrete teaching in the core areas of
\nLiteracy, Numeracy and Health and Wellbeing aligned to
\nExperiences and Outcomes. Pupils learn about other
\ncurricular areas through themes and have opportunities for
\nwider achievement through the JASS Award Scheme.<\/p>\n

Pupils in the Senior Phase are in similar groups of S4 to
\nS6 children. This gives more options for flexibility, learning
\nwith peers and collegiate working in the staff team. Pupils
\nin the Senior Phase work towards SQA National 1 & 2
\nqualifications predominantly and we are developing
\nopportunities for wider achievement through the likes of the
\nJohn Muir and Saltire Awards.<\/p>\n

We have 4 BGE classes and 3 Senior Phase classes this
\nyear.<\/p>\n

Pupils work at a variety of levels and in a variety of ways,
\nfrom early developmental, multisensory learning to partial
\nintegration with peers in Our Lady\u2019s High School. Our
\ncurriculum is undergoing a refresh to ensure we continue to
\nmeet the needs of our school population. A core aspect of
\nthis development is to increase knowledge, skills and
\nopportunities through Outdoor Learning.<\/p>\n

All pupils receive additional support for learning due
\nto a range of complex and sometimes multiple barriers to
\nlearning.<\/p>\n

Pupils are universally supported through a whole school
\napproach to nurture and a total communication environment
\nwithin small class sizes and high adult to child ratios.
\nSome pupils will require personalised support with daily
\ntasks such as eating and drinking, personal care,
\ncommunication and regulating their emotions.<\/p>\n

We work closely with partners in health and social work to
\nensure those with the greatest barriers to learning are
\nsupported in the most effective way for them.<\/p>\n
