Our nursery children have been developing an awareness of numbers in the environment and comparing numbers to letters and sounds. They have also taken part in various number activities to develop this understanding.

We have been using paint, glue spreaders and cotton buds to explore mark making and copying letters
We have been exploring the Halloween tray, learning and singing Halloween songs.
We have been learning to count our movements and identify numbers when playing games outdoors.
We welcome back our children and say hello to our new children. We have been very curious both indoors and outdoors, getting to know our new environment.
The children had the opportunity to use tools today and used saws, hammers and screwdrivers. They had a great time exploring the tools and spoke about safety before and when they were using the tools.
We used yoghurt, fruit and sprinkles to make our tray bake. We spooned and spread the yoghurt then added our fruit to the top before putting it in the freezer. We had it for snack the day after, it was lovely.
The children have been learning about 2d and 3d shapes around them. One of the opportunities they were engaged and interested in was exploring 2d shapes on the lightboard.
