Nursery Fun Day

Today we had a wonderful time at our nursery fun day. Lots of our families were able to come along to join in the fun. We had a bouncy castle, face painting, glitter tattoos, nursery activities and we had a mobile dentist unit complete with a cheeky dragonĀ  and we got a chance to make healthy fruit faces to eat. Scooby Doo even put in an appearance with his bubble machine! Thanks to all staff and parents would worked together to make the day fun and very informative.

Walking Through the Jungle

We are practicing hard for our end of term show all about Jungle animals. We have been singing, dancing and we each have a fact about animals which we are going to share with the audience.

Our Transport Topic

We have had a very interesting time finding out about all different forms of transport. We have also learned about how to travel safely in a car or bus and how to cross the road correctly.

Capital Letters

We have been learning that our names begin with a special letter called a capital letter. We can find our own initial and we have been practicing writing the capital letters by overwriting.

Pattern Hunt

The boys and girls have been learning all about patterns this week. We found out that a pattern can be made up of colours and shapes. We went around the school to look for some patterns that we could spot. Excellent work again boys and girls!

Fruit Patterns

We have been looking very carefully at fruit this week. We noticed that, when you look at the inside of a fruit, the colours, lines and shapes all combine to make up a pattern. We worked hard to try and create some fruit patterns of our own!

Learning to write

This week in literacy, we have been practicing the skill of overwriting. We have to start on the dot and try to follow the ditted lines to help us to practice writing the letters. It is quite tricky but because we are using wipeable boards, we can keep practicing until we are happy with our writing.

Transport

We are starting a new topic all about transport. This week we have been making 3-D models of vehicles and are programming our BeeBots so we can talk about how they can move. We are also bringing home some car-shaped cards to discuss with our families what we would like to find out about in this topic. Remember to bring yours back to nursery so we can try to include your ideas and questions in our work.
