{"id":167,"date":"2015-06-19T09:46:14","date_gmt":"2015-06-19T09:46:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/anntest3\/?page_id=167"},"modified":"2022-01-31T11:17:22","modified_gmt":"2022-01-31T11:17:22","slug":"school-community-links","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/bargeddiepsblog\/school-community-links\/","title":{"rendered":"School Community Links"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bargeddie Primary School enjoys a good reputation in the local community.\u00a0 Strong partnerships have been established, over a number of years, with many different community groups e.g. The Safety Zone, Amey, Viridor, Lochside Manor Care Home, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lcfhp.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lanarkshire Community Food and Health Partnership<\/a>, Bargeddie Parish Church, Community Police etc. Invitations are regularly extended to members of the local community to join us in fund raising activities and we appreciate excellent support from local businesses. Throughout the school session, pupils participate in local competitions and festivals.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the school year, pupils contribute to a variety of charities such as St Andrew\u2019s Hospice, Red Nose Day, Children in Need, Show Racism the Red Card etc. We also work in partnership with other local schools in our area. We work closely in partnership with our joint campus school, St Kevin\u2019s Primary School and enjoy good relations with Coatbridge High School and its associated cluster schools.<\/p>\n<p>Lots of our pupils regularly attend events that are held in The Safety Zone. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thesafety-zone.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Safety Zone<\/a> offers a range of community activities and events for the people living in Bargeddie. Our premises are regularly utilised in the evenings and at weekends by many different groups and clubs. We have one local \u2018After School Club\u2019 based in the community wing of our school. Many of our pupils utilise this facility. Pupils are collected from the school foyer by staff and taken safely to their base at the end of the school day.
