Over the past few weeks we have been learning about Haiku poems.<\/p>\n

Here are some things we know about them.<\/p>\n

1-They have three lines.<\/p>\n

2 – They have 5 syllables in the first line, 7 in the second and 5 in the last line.<\/p>\n

3 – They are a Japanese type of poetry.<\/p>\n

Sometimes we found it hard to think of what words to use.\u00a0 You had to think hard about the words and had to go back and check your lines lots of time.<\/p>\n

We learned how to work out how many syllables are in a word.\u00a0 You can clap it out or count how many times your chin moves when you say the word.<\/p>\n

Today we have been cooking potatoes that we grew in our garden.\u00a0 While we waited for them to boil we wrote Haikus about potatoes.<\/p>\n
