Testing strength

On Tuesday p4, 5, 6, 7 did a Science experiment to test the strength of paper.
To test the strength of the paper we sellotaped the paper to a table and then we cello taped a plastic cup to the other end of the paper. To test the strength of the paper we put sand in the paper cup and the paper would break and the cup would land in someone’s hand 🖐. If the sand was not enough weight to make the paper break then we put weights in the plastic cup. Once the cup fell we attached it to a weighed and took a note of the weight. The paper that could hold the most weight was the strongest. Most people fount the strongest paper was the art paper.

Heart start

On Tuesday primary 4,5,6,7 learned how to do heart start with Mrs Rae.

The first thing we did was watch two fake videos about helping an unconscious person and a conscious person.

The first step was look around for danger then ask the person if there are ok.

Then shout for help if the person does not respond. Next check if the person is breathing by putting your hand on the persons four head and putting your other two pictures on the persons chin. Now Push the head back and put your cheek close to the persons face to see if you can here or feel then breathing.  Then put the person in the recovery passion by putting there right arm at a right angle and bringing the left  arm over and putting it on the cheek closest to you. Then bring the left leg over the right leg.  Then phone an ambulance and answer all of the questions the person asks you.

Mrs Rae said we could test it out on a friend I did it with Zara and we were just laughing but we did get it done.

A Competitive Competition

A couple of weeks ago the whole class did a competition to design the plot (garden) in Banton owned by the school.
I realy wanted to win so I tried my hardest. I was given a sheet of paper to draw my design on. I drew a picture of little flowers round the out side and two big bunches of yellow flowers 🌺 further up. It had two little pieces of wood up the middle in between there was chips of bark.
About a week later I found out that I had won with Fergie’s colours I was delighted. That day Alexander, Zara, Fergie, Ellie and I went down with Mrs Cheape to the plot (garden) to use my design for it. We used the flowers that the school had got for us. Once we had finished laying it out we it looked great.
Im am very happy and proud of myself and I enjoyed designing the garden it was fun.img_0395fullsizerender
