Fun Friday Challenge – CCK Virtual Relay – Friday 5th June

This week we would love if you would participate in the Active Schools Virtual Relay.  We are posting this today to give you a chance to plan your day!

All you have to do is walk, run, scoot or cycle a distance of your choice and send in your distance so it can be collated. The school will then send the totals to Active Schools Co-ordinator who will work out which city we have managed to travel to.

As a small school, we know that we might not travel as far as some other large schools but we are always up for a challenge. All pupils and staff are encouraged to participate.

So, lace up the trainers, get the walking shoes on or look out the bikesor scooters and get involved.

We would encourage you to take photos and tweet them using the hashtag #CCKVirtualRelay and #NLActiveSchools and also remember to tag us @Banton_Pr

Once you are done either tweet the distance using @NLActiveSchools or if you prefer, email the distance to Mrs Rae – gillianrae@banton.n-lanark.sch.uk

Take a look at the posteron the link below to find out more details. Should you have any questions please just get in touch with Mrs Rae.

Family Dance Challenge

Family Dance Challenge!

Time to get those dancing shoes on, those endorphins pumping and that heart racing!

This week’s family learning challenge will focus on Expressive Arts. Taking part in dance contributes to your child’s physical education and physical activity.
Your child will develop their technical skills and the quality of their movement, and use their imagination and skills to create and choreograph a dance sequence. Healthy Body equals healthy mind!

We would love the whole family to get involved in this.

Challenge

We are aware that Tik Tok has been a favourite pastime of many of our pupil’s during lockdown.
We would like you either on your own, with your sibling or the whole family to make up a short routine to a dance and send us the short video clip.
Be as creative as you like, you can even dress up for it.
All we ask is you choose a song that is appropriate and does not contain any profanities.

All the clips will be collated to make a short video which will be posted on the school blog.
We will also choose the top three clips as winners.

Get the tunes on and start dancing!

We look forward to seeing your dance moves and happy faces.

Videos can be sent to Mrs Rae.  gillianrae@banton.n-lanark.sch.uk

Say Hello – Family Learning Challenge Video

Good afternoon everyone.  Thanks to all of our fabulous pupils and staff who participated in last week’s Family Learning Challenge.

The aim of the challenge was to allow us to say a distanced “Hello” to each other and to share what we have been grateful for during this period of time.

Our learning community has risen to the challenge and it is great to see all these wonderful faces again albeit only in a photo.

Hope the video has made a few people smile today!

Look out for our next challenge which we will share on Tuesday morning.

Say Hello! Family Learning Challenge 12th May

Good afternoon,

This week’s family learning challenge will focus on our Health and Wellbeing.

We would love it if everyone could take part in this one in order to allow all of our learners to see each other.

CHALLENGE

Make a poster to say “Hello” to your classmates and annotate or decorate that poster with some things you have been grateful for during this period of “lockdown”.  Be as creative as you like when you make this poster – however you choose to present it is good with us.  All we sk is that you get a photo of yourself with the poster and send it to Mrs Rae.   We know how creative you can all be in so many different ways so use your imagination and get working on saying hello to all of yor friends and sharing what you are grateful for.

All of the pictures will be collated to make a short video of all of our Banton Learning Community and we will share it on this blog.  It is for this reason that we ask you to ensure children’s names are NOT on the poster or photos in any way.

We are so looking forward to seeing lots of familiar faces.

Fair Trade Family Learning Challenge Entries

Well done to all who sent in an entry for the Family Learning Challenge.

Before we announce certificates we would like to share a short video of all of the entries we received.  The pupils have put so much effort into their work.  I especially like how there have been several different ways that the children and families have chosen to present their learning and knowledge.  Creativity skills and personalisation  and choice are evident here.

Many thanks to all of our families and pupils for participating!

Family Learning Challenge – extended deadline

Good morning,

We hope you are all safe and well.  We have decided to extend the date for entries to our Family Learning Challenge.  You now have until Friday 8th May to submit your entry.

This is a good chance for your family to work together on one task while learning about Fairtrade and developing understanding of Global Citizenship.
