Primary 1 Enrolment takes place in January prior to your child starting school in August. Children should enrol at the catchment school for the area that they live in. Further information can be found at Primary school registration (P1) | North Lanarkshire Council
Our school will offer a pre-enrolment tour prior to enrolment for any parents/carers considering sending their child to Baird Memorial Primary School.
Information regarding specific dates and times for enrolment will be advertised in local shops, nurseries and in the local press.

Once enrolled, our new pupils take part in several transition visits prior to the summer holidays to help support the move from nursery into Primary One. We provide opportunities for the children to visit the school, including their new classroom, meet their teacher(s) and classmates, and meet their Primary 7 Buddies!
The Principal Teacher and Class Teacher(s) will visit each child at nursery to ensure that the transition from nursery to Primary One is as smooth as possible.
If a child has additional support needs, meetings will take place with parents/carers and any other agencies involved to ensure the correct support is in place for the child starting school.
Our transition programme also provides parents/carers with the opportunity to meet and get to know each other and allow them to meet the staff at the school.
