Allanton Primary School and Nursery Class

Primary 3/4 have been doing experiments and investigations to find out more about Sound. We asked questions and decided on a fair test. We have enjoyed improving our science skills. As a homework challenge we used our knowledge to create our own musical instrument which we could then use to create different sounds with a different pitch.

Primary 1/2 had a great time at their Halloween Party on Friday 30th October. They enjoyed playing party games and having Halloween treats. We will be adding the Halloween pictures in the next blog.

Room 2 have been out and about in the windy November weather to gather leaves.  We have looked really closely at our leaves and collected information about them. We have made a Leaf Fact File and now we will use this information to make a scientific key. We enjoy being outside collecting specimens.

We are learning about forces and our teacher challenged us to make a craft to get an egg safely to the ground from a height.

We then took them outside and tested them out!

Some were more successful than others…    🙂

Through this experiment we learned about air resistance!

As you can see we are all having a brilliant time.  We. have all enjoyed skiing, rock climbing, canoeing ,night line, and safari .we have been challenged and risen to the occasion!!

Safely arrived at Kilbowie, everybody is pleased with their rooms had a snack lunch and a brisk walk along the shoreline where some of the children tested the effectiveness of their waterproofs.

Room 1 are learning about dinosaurs. We researched the sizes of some common dinosaurs, then went out into the playground to measure and compare their sizes. Here are some pictures from our learning.

Our whole class still didn’t size up to the enormous 27metres of the Diplodocus!! 🙂
