Information booklet

Primary 1/2 are making information booklets about hens as they have been reading their Little red hen story in class.

We first needed to find more information about hens so we decided to use the laptops.

IMG_0013Here we are writing the information on a white board.

IMG_0012I can work with a partner taking turns to write and read the information.

IMG_0014 I am getting help on how to spell tricky words.

IMG_0016 IMG_0022 I found that a hen can live up to 15 years.

IMG_0023  I have decide to print this picture so i can use it in my information booklet.IMG_0024 IMG_0027 IMG_0028 IMG_0029 IMG_0030 Look at all the information we found on Hens.IMG_0031We are going to write our information booklets next by using the information we gathered. The whiteboards will help me make my sentences.

True Scots!

As part of our Burns Day celebrations, room 1  studied the line, pattern and colour of different tartans.

We used our research to design and create our own tartan kilts, we added details such as belts and sporrans as well as some hairy legs to finish off our masterpieces.

Check them out!

Measuring

IMG_0764 Primary one and two have started the measure topic in Maths. Today we used the rulers to measure objects around the classroom and recorded our finding in cm.

IMG_0766 IMG_0769 I know the difference between tall and short.

IMG_0770 Some objects were tricky to measure.

IMG_0771 IMG_0772 IMG_0775 I like books, so i wanted to measure big and small books.

IMG_0777 We are able to measure different objects.

IMG_0778 IMG_0784 We are measuring different hand sizes. Miss Iqbal’s hand is the biggest.

IMG_0785 IMG_0786 I am measuring the length of the box.

IMG_0788 I can remember to start at zero when using a ruler.

IMG_0790My ruler wasn’t big enough to measure this book so i used a metre stick.
