Room 1 have been completing a block of learning on Topical Science. We have been following Tim Peake and his mission on the International Space Station as well as learning about space. We researched a specific planet in our Solar System and created fact files on them. We then used paper mache to create a model of our solar system. We tried to make our models’ size to scale in
Room 1 made the most of the snow! We took some time out of class to have fun and build a snowman. Have a peek at some of our pics! 🙂
As part of our Burns Day celebrations, room 1 studied the line, pattern and colour of different tartans. We used our research to design and create our own tartan kilts, we added details such as belts and sporrans as well as some hairy legs to finish off our masterpieces. Check them out!
Our school Choir spent the morning carol singing at Shotts Co-Op to raise some money for our school. We had a lovely morning and thank you to the Co-Op for having us and for our yummy snack bags!
P6/7 were set a challenge as part of their Forces topic. They were challenged to build a balancing toy. They were given 3 weeks to complete their project and then showcased them to the class. Here are some of the finished results!
Today we had a visit from the Lidl Food Bus. We had great fun learning how to make healthy fruit smoothies and the importance of regular exercise. We each recieved a recipe book, a smoothie cup and a voucher to buy more fruit. Thanks to everyone at Lidl for a super day!
Room 1 had a visit from 2 members of Shotts bowling Club. We had fun learning how to play bowls, it’s definitely different from the bowling we’re used to!
