Allanton Primary School opened in 1927. The building is single storey and has a ramp giving easy access for wheelchair users. The accommodation consists of five classrooms, a central library, a staff resource base and a nurture/cooking kitchen space. A Nursery was established in 1999 with an outdoor play-area. There is a spacious hall, which is also used as a dining area. The school has an extensive outdoor learning area which consists of an out-door classroom, amphitheatre, mini-beast mansion, mud hut, orchard area, music wall, sports field and a nursery garden.
