Session 2021/2022
Welcome back to school! It’s been lovely to see everyone back in school, and meet all of our new P1s. This year we have an intake of 30 new P1s which has resulted in the need for us to create composite classes throughout the school, with the exception of P1. In composite classes, the children continue to work in Literacy and Numeracy groups as they would have normally. Some working groups required to be split to allow for the numbers from each stage in the composite class. The teachers are planning together to allow for consistency across classes where this is the case. In the playground, the children can play together as we do not need to have class bubbles anymore.
Remember that free school meals are now available to everyone in Primary 1 to Primary 4, with vegetarian and Snack to Go options on offer each day – saves making sandwiches at home!
We look forward to an exciting year at APS, with hopefully no more school closure time, and as the restrictions ease further there should be more opportunities for partnership working across stages as well as all of the extra curricular activities which we enjoy so much!
