All S1 pupils will have the opportunity to achieve an aware at SCQF Level 2 qualification in Scottish Studies. This course will be delivered across the school through a number of different departments including Social Subjects, English, Art and Performing Arts.
\nPupils will undertake the following topics in Social Subjects:
\n\u2022 Learning about Scotland
\n\u2022 Making a decision with a Scottish context
\n\u2022 Making a contrast with a Scottish context
\n\u2022 Organising and communicating information with a Scottish context<\/p>\n
Pupils will have the opportunity to choose a topic about Scotland and create a project – this will count towards their award.<\/p>\n
The Scottish Studies course is designed to give pupils a greater understanding of Scotland and they will look at a variety if topics, including: Where in the world is Scotland?, Scots language, Scottish identity, Scottish traditions, terrorism in Scotland and rights in Scotland.<\/p>\n
