Welcome to Airdrie Academy’s Home Economics Department.

We offer a wide range of courses to all pupils from S1 to S6.

In S1 the aim is to develop practical and organisational skills in Food and Textile Technology.  Pupils in S1 have 1 period per week.

At the end of S1 pupils make choices among the technologies.  Pupils can choose to do Food Studies and/or Textiles in S2.

In S3/4 we offer courses in Hospitality, Fashion & Textiles or Health & Food Technology at National 4 or 5.

Students progressing to S5/6 can choose between Fashion & Textiles or Health and Food Technology at Higher/National 5 or Practical Cake Craft at Nat 5
