Snow Days for Primary 3!

I hope you are enjoying the snow.  Have lots of fun and remember to tell us all about it when you come back to school.
Here are some ideas of things you could be doing.
Assembly Songs:
Continue to learn the words for the 2 songs that were part of our homework for the last 2 weeks.
  1. The Donkey’s Tale
  2. The Donkey’s Final Tale
Easter Story:
  • Research the Easter story.

You could write the main ideas and include pictures of the main events.

Literacy:
  • Continue to read every day from your reading book or another book.
  • Practise spelling and common words every day.
Maths:
(If you have access to a measuring tape)
  • Estimate and measure things around the house that are about 1 metre and about half a metre.
  • Record the things you find and report back in class during maths time.

Go onto some of your favourite Maths sites, such as coolmaths, to play some games.  Remember we are learning about Numbers to 100 and 1000 just now and we are starting to learn our times tables.

Our Church Visit

Primary 2 has been learning about Christianity.  We enjoyed our visit to Abronhill Parish Church.  Mrs Boland told us more about the pulpit, flowers and the baptismal font.  It was lovely to hear why God is so important in her life as a Christian.  Thank you Mrs Boland, Primary 2 enjoyed their visit!

Room 6 Trip to the People’s Palace

On Wednesday, Room 6 and Room 5 went on a class trip to the People’s Palace in Glasgow. We were all very excited to look around the museum. We were lucky enough to participate in a workshop with a fantastic guide. We got to learn lots about Glasgow in the 50s and 60s. We enjoyed our lunch in the winter gardens surrounded by the beautiful plants and trees. Finally, we enjoyed playing in the park and playing on the climbing frame. We were all very brave and went down all the big slides. Even Miss Morrison had a go! We had a fantastic day and were all tired on the bus home.

Room 6 update

This week, we have been very busy learning lots of new things. We are working hard to tell the time and we are beginning to use analogue and digital clocks. We have also started work on our school show and we can’t wait to perform for you all.

Next week, we are going on our class trip with Room 5 to the People’s Palace. We are excited to go on a day out together.
