Primary 3 did indeed perform their socks off, they were sensational! They entertained and informed their audience about the UNCRC and hopefully all who came will know more about the rights of the child and our place, as adults to ensure they enjoy them! Thank you, we loved having you with us today. Happy Thinking Day too all.
We worked with our partner to create a tree of respect. We had to think of kind ways to sort problems and we wrote these on the leaves. We are good at solving problems and making good choices.
During anti-bullying week we also kept a diary, played games that required us to work in teams and thought about things that can change how we behave which led to us comparing ourselves to icebergs. One of our favourite activities was playing the good choices game in our class.
Primary 3 were learning about making different backgrounds in Art. The children used everyday items to create texture. After making their kite pictures the children wrote a poem about the wind. The children will have the chance to make some kites and hopefully they can fly these now that the wind is much calmer.
Primary 2 and Primary 3 enjoyed becoming scientists last week. We took part in experiments and learned some new scientific language like predict, variable and fair test. We also learned how to record our findings from our experiments and reported back to each other.
We enjoyed our trip to the Science Centre where we went on a mini beast hunt! It was lots of fun!!
Primary 2 and Primary 3 held a Scottish afternoon to celebrate learning about Scotland.
We learned some Scottish dances, including the Military Two Step, Strip the Willow, the Gay Gordons and the Saint Bernard’s Waltz. We held a ceilidh and danced these dances as well as making up our own Scottish moves to some traditional music. We had lots of fun although we were all very exhausted afterwards.
After our ceilidh we tasted oatcakes with Scottish butter and cheese, shortbread and homemade tablet all washed down with a drink of irn-bru. It was DELICIOUS!!!
