A new format for home learning will be handed out for all pupils this week. This is a termly grid that allows pupils to develop a variety of skills. Information for parents will be sent home alongside the grids.
The Enterprise Committee is helping the organisation Mary’s Meals by collecting donations for ‘The Backpack Project.’ We are collecting a variety of second hand and new items to send to children in Malawi to help them with their education. We will begin collection from May 13th and stop collecting 21st June. We are aware that pupils will still be using their schools bags up until the last week so they can be handed in last, if you wish to donate these.
Items can be placed in the collection boxes on the top corridor outside Room 15 by pupils. Please find below the list of items required.
We have been works on a block of media, with a focus on Christmas adverts. This week we are working on ‘Moz the Monster’. Yesterday, we used similes to describe him, then created our own monsters. Today, we used a Venn diagram to compare Moz to a variety of other well known monsters.
The enterprise committee have had a busy afternoon making crafts to sell at our Christmas Fayre. Come along on Friday 7th December to buy some of our amazing crafts!
We researched a celebrity of our choice in preparation for writing about them tomorrow. Here we are using the iPads to find out important information.
This year the Enterprise Committee have decided to raise money for Children in Need. We are holding a pyjama day on Friday 16th November, if you wish to take part then all you have to do is wear your pyjamas on the day and donate £1.
We will also be holding a raffle to become Head Teacher for the day. Raffle tickets will be 20p for 1 and £1 for a strip of tickets. If you win the raffle you will be the Head Teacher for the day and give out the certificates at assembly, have a special table at lunch and much more. Raffle tickets will be on sale from Monday 12th November to Thursday 15th November and will be drawn on the morning of Friday 16th November.
We hope you all wish to take part and help raise money for Children in Need.
Thank you for all your book tokens so far! We currently have just under 100 but still have a long way to go. The total number of tokens we need to collect is 3500. There is a golden token in the Scottish Sun this week that is worth 50 tokens, therefore it would be an excellent help if you could collect this.
Pupils can hand tokens to Miss Morrison or they can be handed into the office. Once again, thank you to all who have handed in the tokens so far.
We have registered our school for ‘The Scottish Sun Free Books For Schools’ in association with Collins Big Cat Books. The Sun are giving away over 100 free books to schools when they collect 3,500 tokens from the Scottish Sun. So this is where YOU come in!
To get our hands on these free books all you have to do is collect the tokens in the Scottish Sun or Scottish Sun on Sunday between 24th September and 18th November.
If you collect any tokens, then they can be handed them to a teacher and they will keep them in a plastic wallet before they are counted.
These books will be excellent to help encourage pupils to read for enjoyment and will be great as books to send home too. We really need all the help we can get as 3,500 is a lot of tokens to collect!

This week, we are focusing on 3-D objects. We used cubes to create a variety of 3-D objects and visualised them front the front, top and side. We were able to draw our viewpoints in our jotters.
