Transition Task

Good Evening,

The children have been set a fun transition task on Teams.  It can be found in the Post section or in the Assignment section along the top.  This will help the staff get to know your child for next year.  Please do not worry if you cannot find it, parents will receive instructions on where to locate the task via email.

Thank you

Schools Update

Just a reminder of the information posted on Twitter on Monday from North Lanarkshire Council regarding schools reopening which can be found via the following link:

https://www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk/schoolplans

Please continue to refer to our school website, Twitter, North Lanarkshire Council’s website and social media channels for the most up to date information. I would encourage you to check these regularly as we are in a situation that changes at such a fast pace. Also, continue to encourage your children to engage on Teams with their teachers and classmates over the last two weeks of this session.

Mrs Stocks will send out more information next week when there have been updates.

Stay safe!

CCK Virtual Relay

Thank you to all of the parents/carers, children and staff who took part in the CCK Virtual Relay today.  I hope you are getting an early night after all of that walking and cycling.  It looked like you had  a great time and it was lovely seeing your photos on the school twitter page.

Once we have all of the totals in, we will send this information on and let you know the grand total.

Have a lovely weekend!

Home Learning

Dear Parents/Carers,

I hope you have all been enjoying the lovely weather outside.  It was great to speak to some of you last week and find out about some of the fantastic outdoor activities such as gardening, walking and bike riding that the children have been enjoying.  Remember to tag us on twitter (@AbronhillPS) in any photographs you do not mind us sharing.

The school website Home Learning section has been updated to include further information to assist with current learning and teaching, for example how often new learning will be issued and where to find learning grids etc.  This information has already been shared by Mrs Stocks via email, however the useful website list has been updated and there are additional helpsheets for Teams.

Remember to keep checking the school Twitter and North Lanarkshire Council’s website for further information relating to the local area and for any supports you may need.

A reminder that Friday 22nd May and Monday 25th May are holidays.

Take care and we hope to be able to see you all soon.

Calling all engineers!

Abronhill Primary are excited to announce that we will be taking part in the Scottish Engineering Leaders Award during the 2018-2019 academic year.

The competition will be challenging primary and secondary pupils in Scotland to research engineering, interview inspiring engineers and interpret the question “If you were an engineer in Scotland – what would you do?”

Are you an engineer or do you have links to the engineering industry?  If the answer is YES then please contact the school as we need your help!

School Book Fair

A reminder that the book fair will take place in the dining hall on Monday 5th of November for P5, P6 and P7 children.

A selection of books suitable for all ages will be available for you to view and purchase if you wish.

Parents are invited to come along at the appropriate times to assist their child to make a choice.  If you are unable to come, the class teacher will assist your child.
